I think there is no harm and trying so I say lets give it a shot as we will not no what would happen unless we try it correct?

I could probably could get away with a 52 inch shaft but if I could get a 54 inch shaft that would be great as I could always adjust the length of the shaft

Why can't you bring them in, but just have a 'no politics' rule? That way you get the gun guys, but don't have to deal with the whole 'i hate this law or that politician'? I am still a member over at the other place, but I never go there cuz I don't wanna get dragged into that crap. Yes, the new laws suck, yes the politicians are jerks, I get it. We ALL get it. But seriously, to do nothing but get on a forum and moan and complain but in the end do absolutely nothing to help the situation in the real world, that makes you just as bad as the ones doing all this to begin with.

so, in short, I would like to see these clubs be members, and bring more people into our fine virtual world, but I do NOT want the politics. Just my opinion.

Crap, CG is right! Look at this entire thread. Myself included! It's as if we've been conditioned to automatically associate guns with politics. I know I've got a lot of questions since I don't have as much shooting experience as most of you. I should start asking, lol!
I could be wrong...it's happened before and it'll happen again.

Hard not to bring politics into the discussion with these organizations. That's usually their core mission. I'm using politics broadly encompassing gun legislation and gun friendly legislators that can bring change to the state we find ourselves in. Personally I don't have a problem talking about SAFE, status of law suits to bring it down, etc. if the threads stay on topic and people are civil with each other even if they disagree on some points. I definitely don't want to see this forum spiral into the toilet though and am fully aware that's a significant possibility if things aren't handled right. We do need to bring on more membership though, and get this place talking about guns, which is the point of the whole site. It seems to be evolving into everything but lately.

No religion and no police politics unless directly related NY gun laws or the Safe Act.

                    Just some random thoughts....

                    1. Make a sticky about NYSAFE to avoid the repetitive, "is this legal" threads.

                    2. Be specific in the forum rules about how you want political stuff handled. Mention that this area may be heavily moderated if things devolve into personal attacks.

                    3. Hell, state you will be heavy handed on any and all personal attacks. Simple Peshitta like calling someone a dummy starts fights over at the other place and should be stopped immediately.

                    That's all for now.
                    Athiest. Because... science

I think you know what will happen if we interject politics/religion into the mix...might as well call it NYF because the same infighting is going to be unavoidable, and you are going to have to face banning founding members. Why bother starting this site at all at that point.

I wouldn't mind seeing them here but like others have said, they need their own section. Also I wouldn't mind see Oath Keepers on that list.

I'm not really scared as some discussion is good. I'm only worried about what it turns into once the "downstate crew" shows up. Other than that i'm sure it will mostly be handled like adults. Sometimes you gotta take a little bad with the good in business.
They can't stop us let them try. For heavy metal we will die!!!

Snowflakes are great!!! You can roll them around into a giant mass and shove a carrot in their ........
