And then there's this, where the hell is the ACLU?

"It is legal for companies to require employees to get the vaccine, but let's say your employer doesn't mandate it. What if $50 was taken from your paycheck every month if you're not vaccinated? According to recent reports, that's coming soon."

Under the guise of "an additional contribution toward your health insurance, not a stand-alone payroll deduction".

Beer is like porn, you can buy it but it's more fun to make your own

I have to bend over too far

      I get a boner.

bareback every couple of days, GTG. Bareback, brokeback, same $hit!

I joined a support group to help me deal with my social anxiety but I just can't seem to work up the nerve to go to a meeting......

I'm assuming they would have to implement that soon because I don't think they could do that after your policy is renewed.

I've also read they want insurance not to cover or cover less for people hospitalized with COVID-19 if they aren't vaccinated.

No not yet, I've been waiting for the general email to answer any of my questions and I actually just got a response! I sent an email today (I keep forwarding emails I sent for chain of progression purposes) and today I called them out since it's been almost a month. I said I understand silence is the way Cuomo handles things and I thought our new governor was different and if I didn't get a response in a few days I would reach out to governors office because she said she was big on accountability and that I would reach out to media. That got a response in less then hour. So I'm going to file it soon, just need to print it out.

Delta Airlines is planning on charging unvaccinated employees on the company healthcare plan an extra $200/month. This is a suspect plan on a number of fronts, not the least of which is legal. I'd love to see a statistical breakdown of whose Covid related hospital visits Delta is having to pay for. They claim everyone who has been hospitalized with it "in recent weeks" have been unvaccinated. But it's assured that not everyone who is unvaccinated has been hospitalized, so is there another factor that is a better predictor? How about BMI? Will Delta start charging employees who are above a certain BMI extra to cover their additional medical expenses? What about employees who smoke? There's a definite added burden to health care costs with people who smoke, so why haven't they been charging smokers extra for health insurance for the past 20 years?

They have been and they do. The last 2 companies I have worked for....when signing up for health insurance you have to indicate whether you're a smoker or not...smokers are charged a higher premium.

I thought that was the purpose of high taxes on cigarettes and the settlements tobacco industry payed out? My understanding was that money is supposed to cover the extra cost to health care system and to be used to educate on the dangers of tobacco?

This is a ****ed up situation. You have the government who has come out and said it's not legal for them to mandate vaccination. So they came out and said they wanted private business to. Then you had the government say that being nice wasn't working and that they would need to make it harder to not be vaccinated then to be vaccinated which is what we are seeing now. So if the government has said it would be illegal for them to do these things and they are working with private business to make it happen then it can't be legal.

Not only that but having business mandate vaccination is STUPID! you have a lot of businesses that can't find enough workers. So you really think mandating vaccination is going to make that any easier?

Also do you think businesses mandating vaccination for employment or go do business for them is going to effect people's relationship with them? I do, I'm taking mental note and not sure id work for a company that mandates vaccines in future when this is over. Just like I won't support businesses who mandate vaccination to do business with them after this is over.

U of R went full retard today, mandating vaccine for all employees with no option for weekly testing instead of the forced vax. Get the shot or get fired. Period.

They did this a week ago for all hospital employees and the nurses have been protesting ever since...many of them will lose their jobs within the next few weeks because they refuse to get vaxed. These are the same nurses that have been working covid front lines since day one without vax and are just fine with proper infectious disease protocols and PPP. Their protests have made the national news (at least on the right-leaning news outlets).

It's a f ucked up situation and someone needs to get this in front of a court ASAP......

WARFAB : You are so correct.....this is the very epitome of fascism yet no one seems to care.

If the covid cases keep going up I hope hospitals beg for the nurses who won't get vaxxed to come back and the nurses make them pay them big bucks with contracts they can't be fired for not getting vaccinated.

Thanks thughes for posting about UR . When I have choices moving forward I will not support them moving forward.

Here is part of U of R statement.

""Getting vaccinated is also safe and informed by science. As one of the world’s great research universities, we have first-hand experience with the life-saving discoveries that come from rigorous research and testing. In fact, researchers from our Medical Center conducted the nation’s first Phase 1 trials of the Pfizer vaccine."

Notice how they say it's safe but don't claim it's effective.

Anyone on here good with social media stuff? Can we do something to get people to write to U of R and tell them we don't agree with what they are doing and that we can't support businesses and institutions who take this stance? We can't allow this to be normalized.

ETA: firing employees for not getting vaccinated actually does more harm. You're effecting that person's livelihood which impacts their family. You're reducing your workforce in a time when employers can't find enough employees. This effects your customers and the community in a negative way.
