From what I've seen, the Bahco looks like it would get the job done.

I got interested in the Sawvivor, but think they have gone out of business.

Sawvivor used to be made in Avon. They have stopped making them. I managed to score one at GM for $10 a few years back. They were normally $30. I with I had bought more than one. It's an awesome setup.

OK, I'm convinced people have lost their minds. There was one Sawvivor listed on Ebay, which just closed. 20 bids and $130 with shipping! WTF

This would get the job done if you had a Bugout Vehicle with a trailer hitch:

Gunner here is a couple nice saw to choose from,I posted the ones that I would choose for my self..

          Corona

Silky Gomboy....This would be my # 1 choice of saws I would to own...

          Bahco 396-LAP Laplander

Dustrude Quick Buck Saw This is a very nice saw but maybe a little big to carry and take a few extra minutes to put together but if your looking for something that can cut bigger trees thiis would be a thumbs up on it..

Silky Big Boy..on like the Bob Dustude quick buck saw this one folds and this would be another great saw if your looking for one that has a bigger bite to cut those bigger limbs and fits inside your backpack this would be my other choice of saws..

Silky Pocketboy..now if your looking for something smaller here is another excellent saw of choice....And would also like to own one of these myself..

Check out this video of some of these saws in action...

I could probably could get away with a 52 inch shaft but if I could get a 54 inch shaft that would be great as I could always adjust the length of the shaft

Your Very Welcome, when I seen your post I could not help myself and just had to see what I could find out on the saws for you, when I seen the Silky saws I said to my self that is a saw I will have to invest in one some day down the road...

By the way that idiot on ebay has to be out of his ****ing mind to think that some one would pay that much for a saw but then again some people are just plain stupid and do not do any research on Google to find them cheaper, that basically the same saw I just posted for you for a lot less then what he had..

Let me know what you get as I am interested to see what you get..

though you really can't use the last bit of blade because of the angle for very long in the process so don't be turned on by the 15" length being longer, you know what i mean.

it was perfect for this use, though i agree that it's a little big for a BOB it would be worth caching somewhere or maybe your sustainment (I.N.C.H.) load.

The Silky Gomboy $ 40.00 for Camping/Hiking/BoB, and Silky KatanaBoy @ $100.00 for Home/Truck use! That KatanaBoy would kick ass in a situation where you couldn't get access to gas/power saws!

                          Holy motherload of folding saws!

I received my Sven and gave it a brief workout. Not bad for its size and better than the folders I have.

Not as efficient, but I did not expect it to be because of it's size.

BTW, thanks a lot Clarence! You made me go out and order the Silky KatanaBoy today.the King mother ****er of folding saws is in route!
