    Thinking about inviting some gun orgs to the party

    SCOPE, NYSRPA, NRA, GOA, SAF, etc.

    I realize it will necessarily bring some politics to the conversation, but so long as it stays on point I have no problem with that. Would also open the forum up to a larger audience.

    What say you?

    Double edged sword, not sure I like the idea. The other place next door has plenty of politics, that's why we're all here.

      I do not mind at all Cgrutt,as you said it will bring some politics to the conversation and it stays on point,I just hope we do not see it get out of hand like it did over at NYF..I just hate to see all the hard work that you and USMC have built turn into a complete news and politic forum..

      I think as long as they have there own spot in the forum it will be ok..

      I could probably could get away with a 52 inch shaft but if I could get a 54 inch shaft that would be great as I could always adjust the length of the shaft

        Yeah, I hear you. Flip side of the coin is this isn't going to last long with 15-20 users posting pics of bikini girls and talking about giving cute names to the owners...

            What do you mean by inviting them? As an organization or members of the organizations?

                Not sure I follow Jimbo. Just inviting the org to join our forum. Have a section in the business or new "Gun Orgs" section to post things that are relevant to their interests, site banners, promote membership, etc. Pretty much like any other site sponsor except they also bring a network of membership that might want to participate here.

                  Gotcha! I wasn't sure what you meant either, lol! Definitely couldn't hurt. It at least puts us on the map with them.

                      If the purpose is to get more people, figure out how to show up on a search engine. Google "NY gun forum" and in 30 pages this site never comes up.

                        The more people post the more exposure the site gets on search engines.
                        As for politics, the more gun owners are involved, the more clout we receive. We can't be the Ostrich with our heads in the sand, that has gotten us nowhere fast.

                          No margin, no mission. Go for it. Only concern is that not all of us are fans of some of those organizations for one reason or another and those orgs might be less inclined to participate if they are getting bashed.
