I have a challenge for you if you choose to accept it.
Today on my way to work I decided to call the CDC to ask vaccine questions.
My specific question was why should I be vaccinated after recovering from the delta variant in August?
The gentleman I spoke to verified the question and details of question and put me on hold to check the CDC resources. He asked for my zip code as well.
??????when he came back to call he verified that I was eligible for vaccination and offered to send me 3 locations I could get vaccinated at.
I told him that didn't address my question of why after having covid should I get vaccinated. He put me on hold again to check the CDC resources
When he picked up he offered to read me some other scripts and I said as long as they addressed my question that would be great (I was very friendly and legitimately interested in answer and not a dick). He then started reading the things he had in front of him (also said he was taking notes to document call???) And said he found something that related to my question.
He asked if I had been antibody tested and started talking about antibodies and how repeat infection was rare.
Then I had to go into work so we ended the call. But not once was I given ANY reason to get the vaccine lol.
So I challenge any of you if you have time and are bored to call the CDC and politely ask them the reasons you should be vaccinated if you have already had COVID and let me know if they can give you a reason.
The number I called was 1-800-232-4636.
I assumed (silly me) that they would have an answer on why you should get vaccinated after having covid since that's the CDC recommendation based on science. And since it's based on science discussions were had I assume debating the issue and rationale given for the recommendation. But maybe I'm wrong in that too?
