I wonder if there is a conflict of interest assuming U of R receives money from government for testing drugs and vaccines.

I have to wonder why the government and media are attacking anyone who has an opinion that doesn't help them when it comes to the vaccine? You don't push things this hard without an agenda. If this was about everyone's wellbeing then we wouldn't be ignoring the world health organization recommendations.

On top of that if the studies show vaccinated older population cuts mortality rate that is about 1% down by 90% then why push for everyone to get it so hard? I'm not saying there isn't a good reason but there certainly isn't any transperancy.

I got the delta variant most likely which they are now saying is deadlier (again using fear as motivator) and I have a few co-morbidities and didn't have any real issues. The last time I had the flu like 7 years ago was worse although covid lasted longer.

That's the part that's weird. It doesn't seem to add up. Why are they pushing so hard? The medical reporter (Alex Berenson) who just reported on the Israeli findings that natural immunity is 13X more effective than the vaccine got permanently banned from Twitter. These heavy handed tactics just make the whole thing seem more suspicious.

Last I heard, Delta variant isn't more deadly, it's just more contagious. The way a virus naturally mutates, it will mutate to become less deadly but more contagious. I haven't seen/heard any claims Delta is more deadly.

This says not only more contagious but also more likely for the unvaccinated to be hospitalized. Granted it doesn't say deadlier but being over 2 times as likely to be hospitalized over alpha strain has got to have some additional deaths. Also worth noting this study only shows the higher hospitalization rate after accounting for certain factors like age and other things. If you look at the straight numbers they are almost identical.

How many people? Are they ready to fight and go to court? What can we do to support them?

I mainly talked to the people I knew. The one RN I know is officially part of a major class action suit. I don't know the details other than the law firm running the suit has already beaten Cuomo twice in court. Hopefully it's productive. I think showing up to the protests would show support. If you're interested in contributing to the legal fund that would probably help too, but I don't have any details on how to do that.

It was a good time with a festive atmosphere. Plenty of families with kids there. Lots of the kids had chalk and were decorating the sidewalks to pass the time. I'll probably attend some of the future ones as well. Next week it's going to be on Tuesday because of the holiday weekend. There seemed to be plenty of crossover with the 2A community, and it was a very patriotic, flag waving bunch of people.

This is the law firm handling the big class acton suit over the vaccine mandate.

Just a friendly reminder that I brought up in the beginning of the pandemic.

This is supposed to be a reputable source and I don't think anyone can accuse me of misinformation on this. At least not intentional misinformation.
                    https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/vac-gen/imz-basics.htm Definition of Terms

Immunity: Protection from an infectious disease. If you are immune to a disease, you can be exposed to it without becoming infected.

Vaccine: A product that stimulates a person’s immune system to produce immunity to a specific disease, protecting the person from that disease. Vaccines are usually administered through needle injections, but can also be administered by mouth or sprayed into the nose.

Vaccination: The act of introducing a vaccine into the body to produce immunity to a specific disease.

Immunization: A process by which a person becomes protected against a disease through vaccination. This term is often used interchangeably with vaccination or inoculation

Im not sure if these vaccines meet the definition of vaccine. I guess you could argue that it may prevent infection for a limited time but I don't think there is solid science yet proving it does that.

Here's a good quote too that basically says it's impossible to stop infection at this time which is what needs to happen for something to meet the definition of vaccine.

"One of the key issues the CDC's independent advisers must grapple with is what the goal should be for the U.S. Covid vaccination program — preventing severe disease, hospitalization and death, or fighting off all infections, even mild ones. Committee chair Grace Lee suggested the latter is impossible right now, but the White House's booster announcement eschewed consideration of which populations may need boosters once those who were among the first to be vaccinated — and thus were more at risk — receive additional doses."

This all started with "flatten the curve", which was an implicit acceptance that we can't 'stop' the virus. But, people quickly lost sight of the original goal and decided we could stop the virus by isolating. Then, the vaccine would stop the virus. Now it's becoming clear that the vaccine can't stop the virus, but people aren't accepting that either.

The most mature synopsis of the situation I have read so far summarized that if you've gotten the vaccine, be prepared to catch Covid. And, if you've had Covid once already, be prepared to catch Covid because you will likely get it again. The situation sucks and will continue to suck. But on the bright side, it could suck a whole lot worse than it actually does. I really wish people would stop letting the government and media make it suckier than it actually is. Maybe we'll have a legitimate vaccine at some point, but until then, this is life.

I read this article today and thought it was a good read. Talks about some studies and policies for vaccination mandates. Basically it says (writer had MD and JD) that people have rights and if you mandate vaccination you should be exempt if you already had covid. https://www.city-journal.org/battles...ividual-rights

"The Jararacacussu is one of the largest venomous snakes in South America, and now it could help in the fight against Covid-19. They were using a cell culture from some monkey species. In that cell culture, it prohibited growth of the Covid virus. So it actually attaches on the virus and stops it from growing"

I was reading an article quoting some lawyer saying that if your company mandates the vaccine and you don't get it and they don't or can't provide accomodations then you'll likely not receive unemployment benefits. The fact that you don't get the vaccine is evidence of you not following company policy and therefore you wouldn't be entitled to unemployment.

So new plan i guess is to put people into poverty and potentially on the street if they don't play along?

But if you wander up across the southern border they'll fly you to a red state for free and set you up with benefits without even having to test negative for Covid.
