If Kyle is found guilty of anything, the rules of how to handle yourself in an armed self defense situation are changed for good in this country. Protesters will have been told it's acceptable to grab your gun and you'll be in trouble if you defend yourself. This won't help anyone long term.

Yep, im expecting an acquittal and riots after. Now I know we're living in clown world when a 17 year old white kid in self defense kills 2 white felons (a convicted child molester and domestic abuser) and injures another white felon (armed robbery) and his acquittal will set off a firestorm.

Hes definitely pushing the boundaries and trying the patience of the judge.

He's trying to get the judge to declare a mistrial due to prosecutorial misconduct so they can take another shot at trying the kid....they really screwed the pooch on this prosecution.

The judge in the Kyle Rittenhouse trial on Friday said he'll instruct the jury that unless the state proved the teen's AR-15-style rifle had an unlawfully short barrel, he can't be convicted of being a minor in possession of a firearm.

No such evidence was introduced, so it seems likely Rittenhouse will be acquitted on the one charge that seemed obvious to everyone but his lawyers who challenged it from the very start. It might not even get to the jury.

In a stunning statement revealing his ignorance of the 2nd Amendment, lead prosecutor Thomas Binger asserted to the jury during closing arguments that "You lose the right to self-defense when you're the one who brought the gun."

I guess Binger is overruling decades of SCOTUS precedents for this trial.

Edit: Apparently Binger took the AR-15 admitted as evidence, said his assistant cleared the weapon, then proceeded to point it at the jury without having cleared it himself.

Guns-n-Gadgets reported about an hour ago that a US Marshall at the courthouse stated there are 2 jurors who are holding up the verdict because they are afraid of repercussions to themselves and their families if the press leaks the jurors names after the verdict is announced.

While this bodes well for the fact that they're leaning towards acquit (because they're worried about rioting, etc.), it also points out the travesty that there is even a consideration to public opinion being considered by the jurors who hold a young man's future in their hands....the verdict should be based solely on the law, not whether the they'll be riots based upon the decision.
