Are those structures safe? Would they meet US building codes?

the ones I am familiar with would probably meet most US building codes (not all, and ours still vary depending on municipality, AHJ, funding source, etc.).Originally posted by WARFAB View Post

now would the construction techniques meet our standards? highly doubt it.
but we are talking structurally sound and safe buildings, not sketchy mud houses you find in third world countries.Last edited by big flash; 01-29-2020, 04:21 PM.

very interesting stuff. the extreme modularity and pre-made nature is what helps the speed so much.
but it only looks like a couple steps up from building tents though to be honest:
"According to officials, the hospitals will follow the model of the Xiaotangshan hospital, a temporary facility built in Beijing to treat the 2003 outbreak of severe acute respiratory syndrome, or SARS."

yeah i agree, when i first saw the 6 days statement my first thought was "it'll take 6 days to outfit the building with equipment and services once it's built!" I expect it to all be pretty modular like you'd see in refugee med tent. but hospitals are out of my breadth of knowledge.

Interesting, but the base logic seems to be a bit of a straw man argument. I'm well aware that a flu vaccine won't prevent an illness that isn't actually the flu. So on the one side you've got the argument that the flu vaccine doesn't do a good job of preventing the flu. Then there's this guy who says the flu vaccine isn't preventing the flu because most cases of "the flu" aren't the flu, as if that's some sort of criticism of the flu vaccine. When you boil it down, the CDC is lying about viruses. They’re saying the flu virus is THERE, in the bodies of people who are diagnosed with the flu, when for the overwhelming percentage of such people, the flu virus ISN’T there.
My oldest daughter spiked a fever last month and tested positive for the flu. We had all gotten flu shots. We're not certain how many of the kids actually had the flu, but everyone got sick except me. Did the flu shot protect me and not the rest of the family? Did the flu shot protect everyone except my oldest daughter? Does sunscreen actually prevent cancer or cause it? There are lots of these debates to be had based on the limited statistical information available to us.

Do you think a vaccine is going to arrive shortly because of the CDC and WHO pushing this as an epidemic, or because of the Coronavirus patent?Originally posted by Norm DeGuerre View PostI expect that very shortly we will be advised of a Vaccine for such

So let's say this virus starts taking off in the US. What will the response be? Will there be attempts to quarantine groups of people and/or towns and cities?
It has been prepper gospel for many years now that if any sort of catastrophe hits, a big urban center is the last place you want to be. San Francisco was already having sanitation and disease problems before anyone had ever heard of the Coronavirus. Not the place I'd want to be if the Coronavirus actually does take off in the US.
The timing of Don Lemon and Rick Wilson laughing it up on CNN about the 'uneducated rubes' in flyover country who voted for Trump might be the setup for the ultimate godsmack.
