@Flash: I've always wanted to climb Mnt Washington. It's on my bucket list!
@Alistair: The elevation gains on this course were quick in some areas. After about 20 miles in and I believe 800 already up, we did 400' in less than one mile. Then, over four miles we ascended another 500' vertical feet to Castle Point (which is the area where I broke my foot). The next 20 miles were descending 2,000'.
From the Rock the Ridge website, it states a cumulative elevation gain of 7,457ft.... Cumulative elevation loss of 7,458ft and max elevation of 2,185'. So, lots of ups and downs throughout the whole course add up for sure.
