We were anchored in a bay where it dropped. I have a pretty good idea where it is and took some visual markers. Friends were able to reach bottom and its fairly clear with some grass. No expert but don't think I need to worry about currents. Divers are recommended by a good friend and are fairly cheap $150 for two divers 1st hour then $100 per hour after that if needed. No guarantees but I'm pretty optimistic well recover it.

Cgrutt,
I am so sorry I did not find the wedding band you lost,I really hope you be able to find it,but as you know it be like looking for a needle in a haystack and I would not be surprised if a fish did not come take it as bait as you know how they like those shiny things..
Clarence
I could probably could get away with a 52 inch shaft but if I could get a 54 inch shaft that would be great as I could always adjust the length of the shaft

Good luck man, I hope they find it. That kind of stuff is irreplaceable.
My wife had hers pop off her hand this summer in the grass when we high fived after my son scored a goal playing soccer. You'd think a gold band in the green grass would stick out like a sore thumb. Nope. Took a team of about 8 parents almost an hour to find it.Sticky Lips at High Noon!

good luck, I did rescue diving and evidence recovery for almost 10 years, stranger things have been lost and found. An underwater metal detector is your best bet,and make sure they stay off the bottom so as not to stir things up. I have taken classes through dive shops and through DRI (Dive Rescue International), trust me, there are huge differences in how things are done, hope you get your money's worth. We practiced throwing golf balls, and those horrible Susan B. Anthony dollar coins in differing bottom conditions, only lost 1 out of ten. One of the hardest parts is locating the exact position where the loss occurred based n observation when looking for something that small. Always take a GPS on the boat. can make a difference for you or a fellow boater.I must say I love beavers.

Could turn up. My old man lost his red submariner in the river when I was in high school. We were sailing on the Hobie cat and his band pin popped. Took 3 of us the rest of the day but we managed to grid the area off and found it. A ring would be a bit harder to find.
That watch has quite the history with the water considering he bought it off someone who found it in the water at a beach in Canada.

Maybe you should have dropped a fishing pole in the same spot as the ring. Ya know, to mark the spot. lol
Good luck!"I ask, Sir, what is dinner? It is the whole chicken. To pluck the chicken is the best and most effectual way to prepare them."
Colonel Sanders
That is a NICE looking bunch of meat!
I can still find a use for my thumb, even though it no longer has a hole to finger.
I could have been enjoying his nuts.
