I figured I'd ask and see how much work is ahead of me to make this section worth it's existence. LOL What bows do you own? What arrows do you use? What broadheads do you hunt with? Let us know and post some pics if ya want!!
I personally have a few bows here that are mainly for display and some for use. I have a couple of older Darton bows that are for display but I will take them out and shoot them once in awhile. I mainly use my PSE X-Force HF6 and my Parker Frontier for hunting. The PSE is basically the speed bow in the stable. It has hit 345fps with a 346gr arrow. It's not a forgiving bow though and since I'm not really all that concerned with blazing speeds anymore, it's actually taken a back seat to the Parker for hunting. The Parker Frontier I have now, I really don't know what it's true speed is as I haven't shot it through a chronograph to see what it will do with that same arrow. I did get 272fps using an arrow which I believe was 450gr or there about which that's a good weight for a hunting arrow and a speed I can live with anyways. I'll take some pics of both bows soon. I also use various arrows. I have Victory Archery Products (VAP) V-Force arrows that are custom cut to 27.5" which of course give me more speed. I have Gold Tip hunter arrows that I use for big game hunting and I also have the $3 Allen arrows from Wally World that I use for small game hunting and messing around when I think there's a good chance I'll be losing or breaking an arrow that day. LOL They actually fly pretty damn good for an inexpensive arrow and they group really well too. IF YOU decide to buy some, I have alittle advice for you ... file down the inside of the nock where the string is inserted. The nocks provided on the $3 Allen arrows are VERY tight fitting on the string and sometimes will actually stay on the string after the arrow has been launched!!
I don't really care much about it because a small flat file and a few seconds takes care of the issue BUT I figure it's best to give y'all a heads up on what I've found with those cheaper arrows.
