  • EMS stores closing

Probably a result of online sales, but in case you didn't know, EMS is closing a large chunk of their retail stores. I went yesterday and the place was already pretty cleaned out at max discount of 30%. The did have smartwool and darn tough socks at 10% off which is always helpful.

            Really expensive stuff.

I got all pumped last summer because I found a couple Kuhl short sleeve button down shirts on a 50% off clearance rack outside my local EMS. They were marked $40, so I thought getting two for $40 was a good deal. I went to buy them and the total came to $80. Apparently $40 was the sale price. I left without any shirts.

In April 2016, Vestis Retail Group, owners of Sport Chalet and Bob's Stores sporting goods chains as well as Eastern Mountain Sports, announced it had filing Chapter 11. EMS being bought by British company.

I think it's tough to find cheap Kuhl stuff. I think a lot of brand manufacturers place limits on how much a retailer can discount their stuff.

I'm getting that impression. It's the same with the "clearance" racks at Gander Mountain. And it's not just Kuhl stuff. I keep looking at the prices of this stuff and thinking "Can enough people afford these prices to keep these stores in business?". Go figure then I find out Gander and EMS are having financial trouble.

Van Maur is a high end expensive retailer, but I can actually find things I can afford on their clearance racks.

Yeah, the gander by me is in rough shape. But I did pick up a few boxes of .22 recently.

Texas has Legislation up for consideration that would allow one to purchase an Automobile direct from the Manufacturer
amazingly enough, the Examples quoted shown in the argument describe some $7000 in SAVINGS
of course, there is still the Warranty Service Performance consideration ..

DWI .. any input, bud ..?

Are there currently laws that prevent you from buying direct from the manufacturer? I always figured car dealerships were a product of business models, not government regulation.
