Just a update to what I be getting next month,I did find a local FFL only 50 miles away who is going to be building a AR-15 for me,and sense I am going to be saving some money I am going to be taking a road trip to Schenectady to see Bob (Firefly FireArms) to buy a couple AR-15 Lowers from him along with a couple lower kits and maybe a few other things..One of the lowers I do want to make into a AR 15- 22lr so basically I am going to need 2 things a dedicated 22lr complete upper and a couple 10 round magazine..So I like to know has anyone here ever made there own AR 15- 22lr before if so what would say is a good complete 22lr upper that will not break the bank,I have seen some going just under $300.00 for a complete upper. and some that are well over $500.00 .As much as I would like to buy a complete AR-15- 22lr rifle which I have been looking at also but most of the ones I have seen cost as much as a complete AR-15 if not more.Oh yeah before anyone ask I will be building them NY Compliant..I could probably could get away with a 52 inch shaft but if I could get a 54 inch shaft that would be great as I could always adjust the length of the shaft

Clanence with all do respect why do you want to go through all that time and expense to build a NY compliant AR in 22LR? So many other options including a 1022 based build if you're dead set on Semi auto. Personally I recently bought a CZ bolt and would buy another in a heartbeat. I get that you want an AR but at least build one in caliber it was designed for. My $0.02.

Not sure if standard AR15 lower receiver will work with 22LR. Thinking buffer spring, bolt carrier group and mag well will need to be changed but honestly don't have any direct experience with this so just a hunch. Maybe Mek or THughes will chime in...

Looks like you can buy a conversion kit that replaces BCG and magazine and use standard Upper (5.56 NATO) and Lower receiver. This company has option for 10-round mag. Have no experience with this company or product so not a recommendation just results from an internet search...

Good luck with whatever you decide to do Clarence.
