Just to be clear here gang I'm not advocating creating "ghost guns." Just thought it would be cool to get a kit at such a low price and assemble a 1911 from scratch. Compliance with NYS laws was always in my thinking - just was not overt about it. I know it wouldn't compare to a kimber or Wilson combat but cool diy just the same.Ok I can go a couple ways

I think in NYS it doesn't necessarily have to have conventional serial number but can have some type of distinguishing mark. I'm sure you could dremmel on your own serial number if you wanted too.www.AvidArms.com I'm STIHL out of conditioner!!

On another note, fit and finish on a 1911 is a very skilled job. To do it properly requires more than pulling up a how to assemble video on you tube. By the time to buy quality internals you could by a quality entry level 1911. It's also going to require a several specialty tools

I'm thinking back to the discussion a while back about having some custom NYSG guns made. (Or avid arms now)
The price seems decent, although I have no clue what goes into building a 1911.Politicians are like diapers. They both need to be changed often, and for the same reason.
