    Truck CCW Project

    Ok all I need your help. I ordered a console vault for my truck and a magnetic holster as well. Basically it's a magnet that holds pistol in place.

    Initially my plan was to install it inside the console vault so pistol doesn't move around while driving. After thinking a little bit I'm wondering if I should remove tray somehow where drink holder goes. That way I could hopefully install magnet inside. Then I would be able to put pistol on outside of console while driving so it's very accessable.

    Which should I do or both? Any other thoughts or ideas?

    Shoulder holster for pistol, vault for loose change.

      how about keep a truck gun in the vault and your ccw more accessible?

      I'm pretty sure my friends in law enforcement have told me that it's not really a great idea to have a pistol semi-visible and easily accessible in the passenger compartment....perfectly legal, just a bad idea. As big flash has stated, keep a truck gun for those times when you're not carrying but may wish you had gun; find a CCW position that allows easy access when sitting in the vehicle (appendix carry or shoulder holster) and keep your carry on your person. Just my .02.

            Dude, do you have any idea how much a Glock 7 costs?!?!? I doubt that's what USMC carries.

            You could build your own. If you ever get a chance to chat with Eli Sabre ask him to show you his setup, he built something similar in his truck.

              decked is a similar product that i have looked at too. waay cheaper. i think tuffy? makes a version too.

                That is way cheaper then the other used stuff out there.




                So I'm still thinking of maybe mounting a strong magnet on inside of console so that I could stick a pistol on the outside of it. I could keep a pistol there if I'm in a high risk area and could still easily throw it in vault of I ever got pulled over.

                Thoughts?

                    What about going to county clerk's office to add pistol to permit? I would consider a lot of that area as higher risk especially with all the lights.

                    Whenever going to an unfamiliar place there is no way to tell if it's a higher risk area or not.

                    ​​​​​​screw it lol I'm going to do it . As long as I'm not an idiot about it then I will have a lot easier access then most. If I were in a car I would would be more weary about it since so many more people could look into car when stopped at light and potentially see it and call cops.

                      Actually I might have to think more about this from a practical standpoint. I don't want to mount magnet on outside of console. If I mount on inside I won't be able to get a grip on pistol with one hand.

                      Back to drawing board.
