Cerakote DIY oven

Hi,
I want to cerakote some parts and for the small ones I dont have a problem banking because I have a dedicated oven in the basement but there are parts that will not fit like a 26" winmag barrel that I want to finish. I have a heat coil but I dont have a container large enough. How do you guys suggest to go about this w/o going overkill.
Also any recomendations on air brushes or kits including the paint that are more cost effective for large parts?

Yep, it works but haven't used it yet. Mek, you're welcome to use/take it if you can figure out logistics.

Also, I've seen them made with old standing locker if you want to build it for long parts. I made mine large enough for a bicycle frame.

that is a cadillac of the ovens!
I am looking for something vertical and very very simple. I don't have that much stuff to cure.
I figured a large metal bin with an extension on top will give me around 35" that is plenty to hung one or two
barrels if I want. I can stack them and simply sandwich the insulation. A hole in the bottom and a couple of cross bars
inside to hang the stuff up One 1500W heat element should provide enough heat to bring the thing up to 250 degrees.

What daya think?

That will work just fine even without insulation. I would use a quality air brush for application. You can use a hvlp spray gun also but it needs a very fine spray pattern like one for touch ups or you go through a ton of paint to do a few parts. The air brush will come in handy if you want to do camo or other patterns as well. Cerakote rocks.

Any suggestions on an airbrush or hvlp kit that is not too expensive like in ebay or something?

Also what about the actual paint? Is there a good deal buying a large quantity? I will use the dark gray a lot for almost anything.

I will also need a bottle with a regulator so I can reduce the pressure right? All I have is two copressors but they go up to 150psi.

Whatever one you get you want a 1.0mm tip or your going to waste a ton of paint with overspray.

As far as cost for paint you pay a hazmat fee so the more you get the more you save. The thing is Cerakote I have found to have about a year shelf life before it starts to thicken and there is NO reducer for it so you end up tossing it. It will keep longer if you keep it with no air in the container and cool or in the fridge. I put ball bearings in the bottles to take up the air space and it seems to work well.
