in the rochester specific code there is this provision that could render this application an "assault weapon" (S47-5):
A barrel jacket surrounding all or a portion of the barrel to dissipate heat therefrom

Never heard of that one. Isn't that for pistols only anyway?

Won't your fingers get blasted with some of the gas getting redirected back into the handguard?

I don't think so. One could make the back section so it provides a bit of a ring w/o touching the barrel. The gases should have plenty of bleeding to scape so I would dooubt
they will blow backwards at all. No more than a muzzle brake that is for sure.

Thanks. I don't know how I feel about solvent traps. It sounds a little too feminine for bad azz outdoor guys. LOL
