  • NEVER Buy a scope from SWFA!!!!

On 1/20 I decided to buy one of their "Super Sniper" series of scopes in the 16x range. Well I did receive the scope in a timely manner but it was not packed the best. It arrived OK so I didn't think anything of it. Anyways I ended up not having a set of rings for it so I had to order some to fit my rifle. At this time I was busy with work and just life in general and was unable to get to the range with it until Thursday 3/5. I got to the range and setup to shoot and after looking threw the scope at the targets realized this was a pretty junky scope. The optic quality was very poor. My target and other objects had rainbow colors around the border of them. Also the focus adjustment was so touchy that it was very hard to get it to focus and stay in focus. It had to be set absolutely perfect and even then it was not very good.

So fast forward to today. I sent them an email explaining I would like to return it and the issues I was having. She replied and said sorry no returns after 10 days and that scope was not "defective" etc. I emailed back and said well to me that's a defective scope. I've had much better BSA scopes for $100 bucks. She emailed back and said well you can send it in if you want but if we find it to be not defective then we will just send it back or you can trade it in threw the trade in program. I'm sure they will be happy to give me penny's for it in their crappy program. Well I just sent an email back stating thanks for your great customer service from a great company. I said i'll also to be sure to leave a nice review of it and their customer service on the many great forums I am on and social media. Have a nice day lol.

That sucks wildman, id send it in anyway with a letter explaining your complaints. Maybe its a crazy question, but did you wipe down the glass with the provided cloth? The rainbow sounds like some sort of film on the glass. The SS scopes are considered pretty good for the money.

Wow, thats a smokin price for that scope. Good find guns8ck.

I'm OK. I appreciate the offer. For something like this you really need a fixed high power scope. Even what I bought was not ideal at a fixed 16x. I've just decided to get the correct irons for the rifle as you see in the picture.

Yea I cleaned it with my lens pen and no different. I'm not gonna send it in to them on my dime. Especially after sending them that email lol. I'm just done with them. I think these are made overseas now.

Screw them! That rifle needs a classic old school scope anyway.

Good spread the word. They suck!!!

Here is something else I hate about them and their website. Everything shows available and in stock. You don't find out that something is out of stock until afte you check out and pay. At that time they send you an email saying sorry but you just paid us and won't get your item for weeks. Thanks lol.

I'm amazed at how many companies still cannot grasp the idea that a happy customer might tell 1, maybe 2 people about their experience. A pissed off customer will tell EVERYONE that will listen. The term "viral" still conjures images of a white lab coat and a tongue depressor, when really it should bring up visions of stock plummeting at terminal velocity.

There are more than a few vendors that I deal with for all varieties of items than I know I can find a little cheaper elsewhere, but I stick with them for their top notch customer service.
