I'm going to attempt to acquire a new rifle by deer season next year, for 2 reasons: 1) I hate shooting slugs. They hurt like a ***** and give me major flinch issues, and 2) slugs are stupid expensive at almost $4 each.
I have 2 options I'm looking at: a whole new rifle (most likely .308, and it would need to be budget friendly) or a new AR upper (I'm leaning 6.8 SPC).
I'm thinking both will be around the same price when all is said and done. I'm leaning slightly toward the AR because I can buy it in pieces as the budget allows, and build it myself.
Thoughts? And yes, I can only do one or the other.
