    Oh, that!

Well this particular gun store gets a lot of cops for customers. However, I don't think there's a lot of LEO business for Berreta CX4 Storms. As for gun shows, when I see the "LEO only" tables, it kind of pisses me off, and I never see them do any business.

That is a NICE looking bunch of meat!

I can still find a use for my thumb, even though it no longer has a hole to finger.

I could have been enjoying his nuts.

The more I read about them, the more I see that even those who were dubious about their quality, grow to love them for what they are, which is a cheap, simple, and reliable Pistol Caliber Carbine (PCC), as long as you use the factory mags. Where people run into problems is with the aftermarket mags, which in addition to feeding problems, can actually cause damage to the rifle and void the lifetime warranty. In the rare event that it does have jamming issues, from every account that I have read, Hi-Point stands behind their warranty and they will fix it. The blowback design, because it is so simple, is only "cheap" because it is inexpensive to manufacture. It sounds like the bad reputation of these rifles is mostly unwarranted.

The only real issues I have with this PCC is the proprietary mags and lack of high capacity mags for when I move of of this state.

I found quite a few reviews with similar viewpoints to this one: http://www.swatvault.com/gun-reviews...point-carbine/

Looks like I won't be able to purchase the $599 Beretta CX4 Storm that was in my local gun store.

It's not because it has a thumbhole/pistol grip stock.

        You won't believe why.

        Or maybe you will.

This is so unbelievably stupid it boils my blood.

I'd like to slap some one upside the head for this. Really, really hard!

        Are you ready for it??????

        Here goes......

The DUMB ASS IDIOT MORON that owned it, and then finally sold it to the gun store because he couldn't "sell" it any other way....

Had registered it as an Assault Weapon!!!!!!!

So now the paperwork involved to unregister it is too troublesome to make it worthwhile to sell to anyone but LEO.

THIS IS WHY WE DON'T REGISTER!!!

Can't blame the gun store for this.

Doesn't mean I can't still buy new though.....

What difference does it make? Why does it have to be unregistered? Shouldn't have anything to do with you and you buying it.

Per the NY SAFE Act, a registered "assault weapon" can not be "sold". Upon your death, the state gets it. You don't get to transfer (sell) it to another private citizen, not even your kids. FFL's and LEO's are the exception, of course.

Yes, the FFL might be able to unregister it somehow, but they aren't getting "paid" to do that.

They are not getting paid if no one buys it either. Also once its been transferred from an individual to a ffl then it should be fine.

And this is why I don't do anything with firearms anymore. Ive given up and am much happier because of it.

The State doesn't just give up a registered "assault weapon" without documentation of some kind. Since the original owner no longer owns it, he doesn't care. The FFL would have to file paperwork with the state showing how it is no longer an assault weapon. Selling to LEO means they don't have to do the paperwork. This is a large gun shop. They can afford to hold on to it until it sells.

Sucks, but that's what it is.

The end goal of the SAFE act is to slowly eliminate "assault weapons" from circulation within the state. SAFE does this through attrition as owners who registered die or sell them out of state. Once it's registered, the rifle is on a one way ticket to destruction at some point in the future.

If transferring were as simple as selling to an FFL who would then fill out some paperwork and/or make the rifle compliant, it would be a huge loophole in the law.

Bottom line: registering is forfeiture of property.

Recoil magazine sang all kinds of praises about the Lithgow Arms ATRAX.

Nope. Definitely not in the schedule for a while now.

I finally bought something related to this thread, though it is none of the choices listed.

(btw, the sten build still hasn't gotten finished, for those who are paying attention. One of these days....)

Meketrefe is probably gonna throw his hands up in disgust anyway! Lmao....

I went with a bullpup in 5.56. Anyone want to guess what it is?
