The AR with the FRS stock is fully functional and NYS legal and the best option in either pistol or AR calibers no matter what anyone says. If one doesn't like
it is a different story but in terms of functionality, versatility and value is the best deal.

Someday, I will own an AR. I don't plan on staying in this state any more than a few years, and so I've made a conscious decision to not bother buying a NY compliant AR. I will wait until I move, and then I will buy a fully featured rifle, the way it was meant to be. In the meantime, I am pissed off, and like to find ways to get around the fuac laws in this state.

Other than that, try a suomi or sten vertical mag conversion. Those are fairly easy in semiauto with wood stocks available but you need to order the
new receiver and parts kits...

Again, I agree with you 100%. I personally detest a pinned mag anyway. It offends my sensibilities in a semi-auto. Don't get me wrong, I understand 100% why some people do it, and I don't fault them one bit for it, but I won't do it.

I would argue that it is no longer a pistol grip but merely a very large trigger opening. Or get some kydex and fill the area under the trigger guard. Either way, Momma ain't letting you spend that kind of coin so the debate is moot.

I would love one of those 22 tcm rifles. Been wanting one for awhile now but haven't been able to get one. The 9mm conversion seems pretty cool too. I would use it as a plinker anyways

Filling it in makes more legal sense to me, but yeah, moot point. Mrs. POP would pop her top.

However, I'd move heaven and earth for that STEN MK5, and deal with the consequences (probably for a really long time). That is something you won't see anywhere!

I mean the grip. cut it off just a tad below the trigger guard and below the mag catch obviusly.
no grip = compliant.

then in order to grab it the magazine must be in otherwise is difficult. but you need the magazine to shoot anyway right?

We don't have to cut everything, just one piece of cheap polymer. Everything else is intact.
In the AR the A2 grips are cheap or virtually free. One day might come with the cereal boxes.

Plus we are following the president's advice... we have to make some cuts!

I was referring to the "LEO only" designation. I see the signs at gun shows and wonder whether or not enough LEOs attend the shows to justify the table space.
