Looking for a Bass Boat, motor and boat trailer

    Hello everyone,

I need some help finding a really good reliable Bass Boat in really good shape with a motor and boat trailer and any good accessories such as having a dept finder and fish finder for around $1,500.00 to $2,000.00,I also would like to have it so I can stand on a solid floor to walk on and not have to climb over seats that are in the middle like I have in my small aluminum boat I have now,I am going to use my small boat for rivers, big ponds and some of the small Lake bays where I can get away from any heavy winds..

I think there should be a good boat out there where I can use it on Lake Champlain and some other Lakes around the same size, reason being is I want something that can handle higher winds and bigger waves..

As for a motor size I think anything from 50 hp,75 hp or bigger would be great if I can get something in my price range.

I would also pickup the boat, motor and trailer if it is not to far away,I be willing to drive up to maybe 250 miles one way depending on what kind of deal I can get on everything.

I would also like to mentioned that if anyone has or can help me find a Bass Boat, motor and boat trailer I will not have the Money till around the 24th or 31st of July if not sooner..

Where are you Gunner57 I am sure maybe you can help me in this search for a boat since you have a Marina?

I am sure a lot of you here can help me find what I am looking for..

    Clarence
I could probably could get away with a 52 inch shaft but if I could get a 54 inch shaft that would be great as I could always adjust the length of the shaft

I'd bet Gunner will have something kicking around. Good luck in your search.

Hey ... I actually fished with the big boys about 5 years ago when I only had a 16' rowboat with a trolling motor!! The secret is to stay close to .... oops .... can't give that information out. LOL

"really good" will most likely cost you more than $2k. But deals can be found, you just have to be diligent.

Thanks MS,I am not looking for something like a Ranger,Nitro or Skeeter,I mainly need something that has a steering wheel,a good motor and floor so it is easy to around the boat, seats and some thing that can take wind and waves.

Thanks CS,That looks to be a nice setup, from what I can see it looks like it is over in Massachusetts correct? I wonder how far I would have to travel to go see it and hopefully I would not have to travel that far to see it to find out it was not worth the trip and come back empty handed, looks to be 250 miles if I am reading the info correct says Hadley,MA..

Now can you tell me if I was to buy a boat say from NY say some where out your way or the one in the link you posted, would I just be able to bring it home and send the person plates back to him,as it be pretty hard to get it registered with having the title for the boat and trailer..I would hate to drive all the way to MA just to get the paper work to come back home to register everything then go back to pickup the boat and trailer..Maybe someone here or yourself can tell me how this works?

Also I thought I remember some one having a boat for sale here on the forum was it not Wildman?

Wildman MAY have had his boat for sale/trade, but his boat is NOT a fishing boat. It's a very nice 1979 Checkmate with a 220hp Laser outboard on it. It's made to go fast on calm water. AS to your question, you might be able to ask the owner if it'd be OK to use their plate to get it home and mail the plate back. The other way to do it is to get a transportation plate from DMV. It's a paper kind of plate that can be had for transportation for a certain amount of time. In NYS, trailer plates need not be turned in, but most prefer to after a trailer is no longer in use. I just hang them on the wall. LOL

Thanks CS,that is definitely something I do not want in a boat that Wildman has,I just want to get something that can handle the Lake waves,my little boat is ok but I do not think it be the ideal thing to have or get caught in winds over 15mph..

I need to talk to you on picking up the motor from you,I can not make it Tuesday, what chance is there any way I can go ether Wednesday or Thursday or is there a way maybe you can get a hr of free time tomorrow just need a time say late afternoon,I tried to call you to ask you but could not get you on your cell or home, # I think all we need is a 1 hour or less to meet up with you I would like to do it Sunday if you can let me know..it only takes me just a little over 2hrs to get to you..I am going to text you let me know.

CS check this boat out maybe I can get it for $1,500.00 it be worth asking as it does need a battery for it which would be around $125.00 I would say..best part is the boat is in the village I live in if I could get it,I just want to check it over really good to make sure everything is in working and good condition,it is not really what I like to get but it may work as this would be a heavy boat I would think..I really wish people would post more pictures of there boat showing details and also put how long the boat is..

                      What do you think?

My only hesitation would be why not replace battery if that is all it needs to "fly" and build it into price?

Because he's priced above what he'll get already!! LOL That's not a bad deal and it is easy to register a trailer as homemade. If you go look at this Clarence, you'll wanna see if the boat is registered in his name. If not, he's a flipper and truly knows nothing about the boat. Also ask to take it for a test drive if you bring a good battery! That should tell you all ya need to know.

I can see what you mean USMC about the battery, now I would presume the battery should be a Deep cycle correct me if I wrong,I do know most boat batteries should be deep cycle at least for boats..

CS ,I will definitely check out the boat very good and check out to see if he is the original owner,I may have to take a spin around town to see if I can find where this boat is..

LOL yea you don't want my boat. If you get the slightest ripple in the water she will slam right over it haha. Going fast on a calm day is about all its good for. And looking cool with the vintage guys.
They can't stop us let them try. For heavy metal we will die!!!
