  • Postal Exam test help

So I am going to go take the postal exam Thursday and decided to check out online tests now to see how I do. What I do have going for me is I get 10 point preference but my main issue is just passing the test!

I can ace or just about ace the form section of the test but can't even complete the address check in time and memorization section is killing me too.

    Any suggestions, tips, tricks?

For those who are curious this is where I am taking the practice test http://usapostalexam.org/pracexams.php

Yeah, I tried that test, and I sucked at it. I can speed read, but that won't help. What you need is a photographic memory, and I sure don't have that. This is probably why I never became a postal worker so many years ago when I last took that exam.

If you manage to pass and get the job, don't blow it and get yourself fired by treating all the mail as JUNK mail.

That is a NICE looking bunch of meat!

I can still find a use for my thumb, even though it no longer has a hole to finger.

Well the practice exam only is giving me 6 minutes vs the 11 I should be getting so no wonder I can't complete first section lol. So with full time I would have 11 seconds per question which would be easy.

I really need to focus on last two sections.

Oh and I call BS on the law too. I just recently got 0% service connected disabilities through the VA. I don't get any money but I don't have to pay anything care related for them.

Anyways after reading more on process from USPS website I found a section that looks like as long as I pass I will be higher then anyone who gets a 100% on test including veterans that aren't "disabled" So I could get a 70 and be higher up then everyone else except other veterans with 0% and higher Service Connected Disability ratings.

I just think it's messed up to be honest.

        Here is what I found.

        http://about.usps.com/publications/p...me.htm#508hdr8

By law, disabled veterans with passing scores are listed at the top of the register ahead of other applicants who passed the exam. All other veterans' preference applicants and nonpreference applicants are listed in descending order of their final ratings (with veterans' preference points added, if applicable). Veterans' preference applicants are listed ahead of nonpreference applicants with the same final rating.

I am not sure how complex those exercises are but If you want fast and accurate mental processing there are methods.
One thing we do many times at the dinner table is to put math questions to be done mentally.
I started with the kids when they were very young so now when they are at math class they do not need a calculator for most operations
with calculations up to 6 or 7 digits while the other kids use them to add, divide ans subtract even single digits.
You can also do guessing games with words, colors, geography, animals, history, etc... not just math.
So there are easy methods and all rely in simple abstraction exercises. I don't follow any particular method and simply observed
what was easier for the kids to relate to depending on the task at hand. Creating music and memorizing words, chords or notes also helps a lot.
Pretty much like all the muscles the brain requires a routine workout so it can be trained and be in shape to do this type of things.
I am not talking about world records here but simple skills that will come handy for the rest of our lives and because they are fun they are really
          effortless to us.
It is a shame when people demanding tolerance, have no tolerance

Test is tomorrow and I think I'll do pretty well. More research sounds like rural carrier associates have to drive their own car which I'm not willing to do so I'll still take the test and see the what happens.

Oh and no idea who cliff claven is lol but going to look that up now.

Actually, I totally screwed up... Newman from Seinfeld delivered that line. Sorry but that.

Btw, I have a buddy who is a mail man. He said he has 3 gps' around at all times. 1 in the car, one in the bag, and 1 on his body. He said he gets Peshitta for going too slow, and gets Peshitta for going too fast.
