    Not sure why he would..... You get paid for how long route is supposed to take. If you take less time you still get paid for longer amount.if you take more time you get paid for less time.

    That said I see mail people taking breaks together or napping if they are way ahead of schedule.

      It takes forever to be hired career postal carrier. All are started temporary for year and only get hired full time career through attrition. So high seniority retire then ones behind them take their routes. If there are any left at the end they will convert someone. Better turnover in big cities. I believe pay is $16 an hour with no benefits at first. You can get a lot of hours though.

        I just don't want to have to drive my own car and would like a lot of hours. Don't care about benefits off the bat.

          In the city you won't use your own car. Only rural carriers and then they pay you mileage.
