Perhaps it may be valuable to have a thread on where one may find ammo these days, since our fine NY STATE had screwed us out of saving money hy buying ammo online

Is Gun Trader any good? I've heard mixed reviews, and the place looks kind of sketchy.

They are good but I’ve never bought a firearm from them. The Dad was *****y on a good day but he has passed. His son is in a much better mood.
One thing I have heard major complaints on is having a forearm shipped to them from another ffl. They want all this unnecessary info on the outside of the shipping box and if it’s not perfect they ship it back. Now you have to wait longer and pay for shipping again

They had some rediculous hours at one time Like Saturday, from 11-2. ????

Went to progun once. Made an offer on a broken used NM free float tube that they had marked full price. The guy who I'm assuming was the owner acted all offended by my offer and angrily (and loudly) told me he was only accepting full price, and if it didn't sell he would put it on one of his rifles.

I went home and ordered a brand new one from Brownells for the same price. Never been back to that shop

i had a crappy enough experience i never went back too. gave them the chance to change a broken disconnector on a pump 22. it took way too many calls and way too long, and wasn't cheap. pretty sure they didn't do something right as something else broke almost immediately.. i should get that back out and re-diagnose it, forgot about it until now

Firearms are a tough market
margins are incredibly small, 10-15%.
Will not run a small business unless you gross several mil

The FFL I used to use would do transfers for $25
that will not pay many hills if you have a Storefront He could afford it, as he was a retired city cop
