If I had any good ideas, my garage probably wouldn't be a pigsty. Good luck

My thoughts are to run some 2*4 lumber horizontally above the drywall Then plywood it. ..I have ,10' walls as this is pole construction
Attaching shelving to the steel studs is asking for trouble
With the horizontal laterals the load will be spread out a bit
those steel studs are not meant for structural use, simply as a base for drywall

I did stand alone shelving in the back corner of mine, 4'x8'. Also built a workbench that i use for storage as well.

It's my little man cave out there. Also a couch opposite the TV. The computer tower is mounted to the underside of the bench. I use it to run the tv out with streaming services.I spend pretty much April to November out there. Love being outside.

Of you're looking to not go all the way to the floor, I've found using chains for suspension works nice. Did it for a lumber shelf over my garage door and also for laundry room in the basement.

              Homack roll - a -way.maybe ??
Can't beat them for the price.
At least as good as the low end MAC cabs that have really dropped in quality ..

Snap On rollaways used to be made in Jamestown NY by Aero Industries
I am certain it has been offshored these days

It works great for shelving. I get the turnbuckles and put them online for leveling purposes.

Matco manufacturers rollcabs in Jamestown still. The series is named after the city even. I know a guy who has one and loves it.

                    Never bought one new
Why buy New, when Used will do.

Just ain't enough room .. I need to put a lean to on the back, and cut it open to the garage
If the Tool bo xes/RollAways we're in there, it would make a big difference

My wife and kids tend to be, shall we say... savers. I'm more of a minimalist myself, so the compromise is I've become good at maximizing unused space for storage.

I did this wrap around set of shelving years ago under the stairs leading down to my basement. Worked pretty good to get a lot of stuff off the floor and organized.

That’s a 500$ shelf unit with todays lumber prices

I have a ton of shelves to build, but I’m still waiting for lumber to come back out of the stratosphere. I may have to bite the bullet and build some minimalist shelves just to get some stuff out of the way. I’m tired of waiting.
