  • Auto Rustproofing

Well, perhaps a misnomer But in this climate your auto needs protection
My nice Florida automobile was showing signs of residing in New York for too long

I used to work at Ziebart when I was a young pup, sos I had a bit of knowledge to start drilling

Looks like this has done the trick
Stopped the bubbling on thte rear wheel arch
I run cars for 20 years or so, therefore this protection is important
What I used was Fluid Film ...

We just bought a new car and the dealer tried to sell us Zeibart for $1600. They wanted $100 just to apply their version of Rain-x so that turned into a hard pass. We will be getting undercoating done, though, soon.

New car ???? s the time to do it
It's not so much the Material, but the care of the Applier
ADealer job will never get any good
      They just want the Extra
You have to go to a dedicated Shop
There used to be 3 Brands
      Ziebart
      Tuff Coat DiNol from Sweden.
      Ruaty Jones
I think only Z is left

Yeah, the 16 year old 191,000 mile rotted out caravan was due to be replaced. The tax return gave us the extra down payment to make new feasible so we jumped at it.

Been my experience that undercoating is generally useless. Opinions vary though.

      C'mon, DWI
I worked at Ziebart for 3 years when I was 18
Saw many cars come in for a Re-Spray that were 10 years old
      Looked like new
This s is in the 70s
When a Ford would desinigrate in 3 Rochester winters
      Also
Sound deadener ng is quite apparent also
      Now
Newer autos with HSLA Steel don't rust as bad
      But
      Brake and Fuel lines do

My father in law uses Krown. He’s been happy with it so far.

I’ve heard that undercoating can also cause more problems that it solves if it’s not properly applied. It can actually trap all the bad stuff and lead to premature rust that you don’t even see because it’s hidden by the undercoating.
