  • Federal "stop on-line ammo sales" act

Our esteemed non-representatives in DC are trying to **** the rest of the country like NY has ****ed us: No on-line ammo sales and anybody purchasing more than 1000 rounds of ammunition is to be reported to the state police. Also requires entry into a database of purchaser's name, age, and address. Here's a description along with the traitors that have co-sponsored this so far (including our own Benedict Slaughter). Write your reps and let them know this PePePePeshittatatata ain't gonna fly.

    https://www.congress.gov/bill/114th-...283/cosponsors

Prohibits any person except a licensed importer, manufacturer, or dealer from: (1) selling ammunition, with an exception for a sale of ammunition to a licensed importer, manufacturer, or dealer; or (2) engaging in the business of importing or manufacturing ammunition, or in the course of such business, from shipping, transporting, or receiving ammunition. Prohibits a licensed importer, manufacturer, or dealer from: (1) transferring ammunition to a person unless the licensee, in the physical presence of the person, has verified the person's identity by examining a valid identification document containing a photograph of such person; or (2) selling or delivering any ammunition (currently, any armor-piercing ammunition) to any person unless the licensee notes in his records the person's name, age, and place of residence, if the person is an individual, or the person's identity and principal and local places of business, if the person is a business entity.
Applies prohibitions applicable to the shipping or transport of firearms, and record-keeping requirements applicable to the importation, production, shipment, receipt, sale, or other disposition of firearms, to ammunition.
Requires each licensee to: (1) prepare a report of multiple sales or other dispositions whenever the licensee sells or otherwise disposes of more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition to an unlicensed person at one time or during any five consecutive business days; and (2) forward such report to the specified office and to the department of state police, the state law enforcement agency, or the local law enforcement agency of the jurisdiction in which the sale took place by the close of business on the day the multiple sale occurs.

I really don't think this is going to go anywhere given that all the sponsors are Dems and that the Reps have a majority plus it basically prohibits interstate commerce BUT......we need to remain vigilant and make sure our voices are heard lest these sneaky bastards manage to slide one by someday.

Wrote to Nadler, for all the good it will do. Makes me feel a tiny bit better, if nothing else.

And one to my future representative, Leonard Lance.

            "Dear Representative Lance,

This message is slightly premature, as we are due to close on the house at the above address in two weeks, but we are looking forward to the move and becoming active members of the community.

I wanted to take a moment to write about bill H.R. 2283, which was just introduced by another representative from New Jersey. I do not support this bill. Having lived in NYC for the last 30 years, and having been unable to order ammunition online to my address, it is readily apparent that the ability to order online does not deter crime, but only makes it more difficult for anyone involved in shooting for legitimate reasons to do so.

While I am hoping that this bill does not make it out of committee, if it does, I would like to ask for your vote against it.

            Sincerely,
            S Williams"

I think we need an AWB. Ass Wipes need to be banned from every level of government.
