So a federal judge ruled that Illegal Aliens have the right to keep and bear arms. My gut reaction is to be concerned about this because there's so many criminals sneaking across the border. There's already concern about the number of terrorists and sleeper cells who have illegally crossed into the US. But, obviously gun laws aren't going to do much to stop illegals from getting guns if they want one anyways, so what's the point?
Then I start to wonder how this plays out long term from both a legal and practical sense. Legally, a judge ruling that illegal aliens have 2A rights would seem to imply that background checks for gun purchases shouldn't be a thing. Can one fill out a 4473 as an illegal alien and still be approved for purchase? It's been a while since I've looked at a 4473. (Sad, I know, but money is tight.) Plus, will all the members of the open borders crowd be in favor of illegal aliens if they know they're armed?

Curious to hear from the legal minds of the forum on this one.
