Is this real news or just a clickbait headline? Does anyone know how many different products get their own CC code? I have no clue if there are already thousands of specific CC transaction codes.

It's real news and I guess NRA is upset too. I know for example there is a code for subscription service for example. With that code credit card purchases will still go through even if information they have is expired by years.

I think the issue is that with this code there is a data base of people who shop at gun shops, purchases there are really good indication you have guns

The credit card companies already know where you shop and what you buy whether there's a special code or not. That's why I'm wondering if this actually changes anything.
