Poll taxes are illegal. If anything shouldn't I not have to pay any tax on firearms, ammunition and accessories? After all it increases cost disproportionately effecting lower income individuals from exercising their 2nd amendment right

By pushing this as a tax, it falls under the Congressional Ways and Means Committee process, allowing it to then be considered as a "reconciliation item" under the budget heading which means that it bypasses the filibuster requirement and only needs 50 + 1 votes in the Senate to pass.

They are going to keep ramming this s hit through and then we'll have to suffer for the next decade as this obviously unconstitutional BS works its way through the courts. (AKA: The "SAFE Act model")

I'm seeing this as lip service by the dems "see, I tried to do something!" and if it sticks, they'll be all the happier. 1000% tax is an astronomical number, and they'll probably "compromise" down to 100% tax.

You're kidding, right? When did they start giving a rats a$$ about the second amendment? They been pissing on the 2nd for so many years it has become a right in itself to do so.

Would love for this to lead to a big court case striking down NFA stamps, but unfortunately I doubt I'd have much life left to enjoy such a ruling.
