Anyone else ever notice that you feel better about yourself after watching The Biggest Loser than you do after watching American Ninja Warrior?

Dang Alistair. Good luck with your marathon. I'll get back to my Ben & Jerry's now.

That will be a beautiful run. The Canadian side of the west river looks quite scenic from the water.

Especially in October, though we may be about past peak for the leaves.

I've ran it. Unfortunately the strip bars you go by are closed at that time.

I've read about the barkleys, I'd suggest the Mendon 50K. It's not a big step past 26.2. If you're interested, I'd suggest looking into the Ontario Ultra Series. endurrun.Com is a great week. I've done it twice. Made friends for life.

Just don't be obnoxious about it on social media if you start the trail running thing. I know a guy from college who does trail running and he does his best to make sure EVERYONE on social media knows about it. EVERYONE. It's pretty much all he posts about, and he posts stuff about it all. The. Freaking. Time.

Even if I was that into running I'd probably avoid trail running just because he makes me think it's an obnoxious crowd.

I'm still a couple years out from a full. With my boys being little still, my wife would beat my ass for the amount of time I'd be gone for training.

I actually try pretty hard to not be that guy.

You would have to work at it pretty hard to get to that level.

To me it was almost religion. Couple stress fractures later and now it's just camping/hiking. I just love the woods.

But I try not to be overzealous about anything but rightful liberty these days. So I guess I'm THAT guy in other ways....

Rightful liberty is a benefit for everyone. Self promotion taken to the extreme only benefits one person.

I've only done a couple trial runs, but I really enjoy them. I wish I had more around where I work so that I could run them during my lunch run.

I'm not normally into trail running but last year I ran The Great Adirondack Trail Run (11.5 mile strenuous run (2900′ of vertical gain and 3100′ of loss) up the back side of Hopkins Mountain and down to Keene Valley) - they limit the field to 60 runners.\

Next year I'm planning to run The North Face Endurance Challenge - https://www.thenorthface.com/get-out.../new-york.html
High Peaks Guru, but prefers twin peaks

we will need a separate class for my wife and for my girlfriend.
