So I think Johnny Cash covering Nine Inch Nails' Hurt is the best cover Ive ever heard. Hands down. The lyrics, his voice and the mood it creates is just perfect IMO.

I've been familiar with Lynyrd Skynyrd's classic rock from the 70s for many years now. Randomly stopped by their website and saw they've released albums recently with new band members. Wasn't familiar with any of the newer tunes so I checked it out on Spotify and it's good stuff.
Aside from having a great southern rock sound, the lyrics also work with my personal views.Comment

My daughter finally unplugged from the ipod for a bit and is upstairs in her room jamming some vinyl on the rig I set up for her (she has a really nice vinyl collection, mostly old punk stuff).
