  • Imprisoned for a Meme

Douglass Mackey convicted by a federal jury in Brooklyn because of a meme he tweeted. He faces a maximum of 10 years in prison.

Lie to a FISA court or write tap an opposing political campaign and its no big deal. But if you tweet a satirical meme to your 58,000 followers it's prison time.

Just kidding. He was found guilty of "Conspiracy Against Rights". As far as I can tell he's guilty according to the jury's instructions. I'm also reading something about a secret sar witness for the prosecution that the defense wasn't allowed to cross examine....?

He very well may be guilty of the federal charge. The question that most people are asking is if a Twitter user with about 58k followers gets charged and convicted, what about the people who perpetrated all the other shenanigans leading up to the 2020 election? There are plenty of examples of Democrats posting very similar memes and comments telling Republicans deceptive information about how to vote.
