  • Another one bites the dust

The wife and I are officially down with the rona. She tested positive a couple days ago, and I tested this morning (I was negative Tuesday night).

aside from the awful headache, it’s not too bad so far.

    Is this your first time?

For me, thinking about the hype was the worst part. I wondered how bad it was going to get and if I was going to have long term effects. The body aches were rough for a few days, then they went away and it was just waiting to go out and run and see how I felt.

Drink water, take OTC meds and get some rest. Last I knew if needed you can go on Monroe county website and notify them there and get letter of isolation automatically via email.

Yeah, first time me. As of now the headache is the worst part. If I weren’t positive, I feel good enough that I would have gone to work if it weren’t 2022.

There was definitely a lot of anxiety as we’d gone 2 years without getting it, despite it hitting pretty close to us (daycare got hit recently, that was stressful). I’m kind of relieved at this point that it finally hit. The hard part is that my 8 year old is currently home with a stomach bug and we can’t give him the attention he deserves (he’s not being ignored, we’re just trying to keep away from him as much as possible). He’s a champ though, and handling his business.

Ain't that the truth of things. Was just reminiscing with a friend about a double date I went on with him and the wives to a blacksmithing class. I was very feverish and not feeling well at all, but we'd paid for the class and nobody wanted to cancel. So I went sick. Wouldn't have been acceptable to do so in 2022.

Keep your sinuses as clear as possible. You don't want crap traveling into your lungs, as that increases the recovery time.

I did, and it was nothing more than a bad cold. Mrs. POP didn't and she was still hacking and coughing a couple weeks later.

That is a NICE looking bunch of meat!

I can still find a use for my thumb, even though it no longer has a hole to finger.

I could have been enjoying his nuts.

Day two, I felt like I got hit by a truck this morning. I have no energy and struggled to even keep my eyes open. It’s definitely a ***** of a cold.

This only lasts a day or two. Get sleep and wear soft clothing.

Best advice I can give and I'll repeat it. Drinks lots of water and take OTC meds around the clock. Staying hydrated makes a big difference.

Still here. Pretty damn bored. But yesterday was an eventful one. BOTH kids are down with a stomach bug while the wife and I are stuck with the vid. She and I are feeling “fine” but still keeping our distance from the kids as much as possible. Mother in law took our youngest to urgent care because he was complaining of really bad stomach pains, then puked all over the waiting room of urgent care. 3 hours waiting there just for them to say “yup, stomach bug”. (The pediatrician was worried about his appendix and wanted him checked due to the pain he was having).

Day 2 was definitely the worst of it. It was all I could do to keep my eyes open and my mouth shut. I had zero energy. But like I said, outside of Friday, if this was 3 years ago, it would have been more or less a normal day/cold and I would have been doing whatever needed to be done, just done slower.

really just a lot of laying around watching Netflix and YouTube.
