    New NY mask mandate

    Anyone have any idea where I can find the actual text to the rule? I haven't been able to find it and it's not listed as a NYS executive order that I can see. Apparently it goes into effect Monday.

      And they still continue to blame the unvaxxed. She says 80% of New Yorkers.are vaxxed, yet cases are spiking. The only logical explanation for thsg is the vax is useless.

        If 80% of New Yorkers are actually vaccinated, the logical explanation could be a bit worse than the vax being 'useless'.

      I did read an interview with ROC area business owner a few weeks back, right after Erie county put mask mandate or vax req in place. This business owner said that ROC business are tired of this nonsense, wasn't sure who would comply and who would tell gov to suck eggs.

      In some other states I've recently visited, people are completely ignoring any existing mask/vax mandates (citizens and business owners)......it's pretty much just a joke now.

      I joined a support group to help me deal with my social anxiety but I just can't seem to work up the nerve to go to a meeting......

      Okay, so I just went to the website for the New York State Governor that I posted above. I tried calling both phone numbers, the one for Albany and the one for New York City. If you have questions. It's either busy or go straight to voicemail and says the voicemail box is not set up.

        Called NYS covid hotline. They gave me governor website. I said I wanted the actual law, rule, or executive order and she said it was there. It is not. I did a word search on her last executive order and didn't find word mask in it.

        So if there is no rule, executive order or law that I can read myself then this is not a lawful order and unenforceable in my opinion.

          Went to the gym this morning. The only person wearing a mask was the gym owner. Didn't notice any signs saying masks are required, and the gym hasn't sent out any new communications on the matter.

          I heard from someone that a business sent out email to employees that they are required to wear masks but out of safety for the employees they will not be mandating customers to wear masks

            News:@GovKathyHochul says that NY will NOT be forcing counties to comply with the mask mandate going into effect today. Some county executives say they will not. “ I do hope that the businesses will enforce this. And individuals will understand how important it is.”

                Found on another NY forum:

                The mask mandate is not a mandate from the governor. It is actually a determination from the health commissioner. The authority that gave the commissioner the power to make such determinations, 10 NYCCR 2.60, was temporary. It was put into effect in August and expired after 90 days, which was November 24th. In order to LEGALLY renew it, 60 days notice and an opportunity for public comment must be made, according to NYS law. They renewed it without any of that, making it renewed illegally. Which means this determination is also not legal, as it was made under a statute that expired and was not renewed according to law. The masking and testing for schools, the vaccination requirements for medical personnel, all of it fell under statutes that have expired and been renewed illegally.

                      Word has it that many county executives are telling the gov to pound salt...that their health departments will not be enforcing this BS. Also hearing that a lot of local business are ignoring this latest mandate. Nice to see that people may finally be pushing back.
