I spoke with the VA today (infection control person). I asked what the purpose of vaccine and mandates are and the answer was to keep people safe. That's s good and fair answer.
She is going to keep an eye out for information that might persuade me but the following is my take from the conversation.
We don't have a lot of great data either way. The data we do have supports my position that reinfection is rare and when it does happen it's typically mild not requiring hospitalization. So I don't see a benefit.

Would love to see the stats they used to come to that conclusion. I've read plenty of analyses saying that's not true at all.

Why, in the name of all that is good and holy, would the CDC stop collecting that data? Without that data we'll never know the best way to proceed.

There isn't a country where vaccination has made a significant difference in the pace of the pandemic or helped to bring it under control either.

Anyone else feel like this entire thing is way more confusing and there are more unknowns than there should be at 2 years in? Definitely doesn't help with the CDC decides to stop tracking a key metric.

Thought this was interesting. Study during initial wave is being talked about now. Basically those who have people in household who have had covid or gotten vaccinated reduced rate of others getting covid. Again it focuses on getting vaccinated but again shows natural immunity provides benefit to yourself and others.

Talked to a friend who works at a major corporation and he said they're requiring the jab AND requiring (non-union) employees to show proof. He's already jabbed so not to concerned about it, but it was interesting getting details from him. He said the company has employees in Texas, but the company took the stance that "federal law trumps state law" so the Texas employees will need to get the jab as well. Is there actually a federal law requiring the jab at this point? Last I heard Biden's XO was to get OSHA to create a rule. While ignoring the question of whether or not an OSHA rule constitutes 'federal law', has OSHA posted the rule yet? Anyone have a link because I haven't seen anything formal yet. thughes posted the rule governing federal contracts, but is that from OSHA or some other agency?

It seems that if an actual federal rule/law had been issued, there would be a lot of articles scrutinizing it on legal grounds. I haven't seen such articles yet, so am I just missing it?

There is no such law yet, which is why it hasn't been challenged in court. Can't challenge it until there's something down on paper. Biden is letting businesses do the work for him just by the threat of something possibly coming down the pike.

There is NOT a law or EO yet that is requiring the jab for over 100. Theres NO WAY it stands up in court, but the Biden Administration keeps gaslighting everyone with the threat etc., and plenty of companies are doing this on their own to get ahead of it. Textbook definition of fascism.

If you're vaccinated soon you may no longer be fully vaccinated. Get ready to be impacted by the mandates like the deplorables.
