AtraZeneca vaccine

Not sure if anyone has been following this one. Basically a bunch of countries stopped using this one because people were getting blood clotting issues.

Experts said it was fine and that the rate of those issues were less then happens in general population so they weren't related.

Then I saw article that biden was giving millions of doses to mexico and canada of this vaccine lol because it's not approved in the US.

Now researchers have found the connection between the vaccine and clotting issue and have a treatment protocol in place.

So I'm seeing this as, "no problems here, stop asking questions and the evidence doesn't support that claim" to "yup there is a connection but don't worry we found the fix!"

Personally I'm fine with the risks of not being vaccinated and willing to wait. But I also support those who do decide to get one, just don't try and force me too lol.

I believe I read that the total instance of clotting was 12 people out of the however many 10's of thousands of doses administered so far? Statistically irrelevant, really.....a non-issue.

It was like 30 out of a few million I think, your right it's really a insignificant percentage.

I'd be curious to know what the actual complication percentages are. Considering the risks from Covid are pretty darn small for people under 50, the risks from the vaccine need to be smaller for it to make sense for that age group.

My female coworkers all stopped showing up to the office a full week before Cuomo locked things down last spring and they haven't been back since. Meanwhile, I can watch them talk about how much they want to get the vaccine in their group Teams chat. I'm also getting to hear them talk about their experience with it. Given the number of reactions and side effects I'm seeing among the people I know, I'm in no rush to get it.

This also gets into fun with numbers and statistics and the fact that nobody really knows what's going on. It's been pretty well established that Covid was in the US and spreading earlier than originally thought.

• The true number of infections in the US is estimated to be some multiple of the actual positive test results. (3x 4x 5x...?)
• The CDC and WHO recently changed their PCR testing guidelines for Covid. The test will now be less sensitive.
• The vaccine is being administered to large numbers of people.
• Trump is no longer president.

So given all those major variables, what's actually going on with Covid? Are we reaching natural herd immunity or is it the vaccine? Which explanation of things benefits who?

We have already gotten to low positive test rates before vaccine came out and then it got worse again.

Not sure how true it is but heard that if you do get vaccinated staying really hydrated with electrolytes and what not helps minimize reactions.

My 90+ y/o grandmother with cancer got covid a couple months back and had a couple rough days (being sick but no complications) but recovered fine without even needing to go to hospital.

Speaking of Biden.... Anyone have a clue why there hasn't been demands yet for independent medical exams to verify he is for for president? He said hopefully in may if you've been vaccinated you can have indoor get togethers with others who have been vaccinated. He called his VP President which is his title. He isn't able to get up stairs without falling. He often looks confused and not present.
