  • Louisville Riots

There are reports that BLM protesters are shooting at the police officers. Not good.

News just came out that the cops in the Breonna Taylor incident will not face charges for her death. Just endangerment for his stray rounds.

I haven't delved into the details of the case, but I'm of the opinion that no-knock raids are generally a bad idea.

Reports that two officers have been shot in Louisville and riots are taking place in multiple cities. The media seems to be focused on Louisville at the moment, so no clue what's happening elsewhere.

Yup "officer down" is what I've been hearing, so a cop has been shot.
found an interesting channel where this guys streams people's live streams:

          this is a big deal

AmCon had confirmed I think 29 protests planned in major cities tonight across the US

From what I hear it wasn't a no knock raid. They actually knocked and identified as police. Occupants refused entry, the door was breached, and a gunfight ensued. Taylor was a crossfire casualty. Sad, but par for the course when you're mixed up with drug dealers. No racism involved.

If this article is accurate, they had authority for a "no-knock" raid, but decided to knock instead...... after midnight. If they knocked, how loud did they knock? Did they knock and clearly inform everyone what was going on? Why after midnight? I'm an old fart, so midnight is late to me. No idea how alert and coherent everyone in the apartment was that night after midnight.

Taylor was suspected to be connected to her ex-boyfriend's drug trafficking activity. So the police had a warrant that legally allowed them to break into Taylor's apartment after midnight on March 13. The warrant didn't require them to knock, although Cameron claims they did.
According to what I'm seeing, the police pounded on the door for 30-45 seconds. Looks like they pounded on the door and breached at 12:40 am.

I'm playing catch up on the details, so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Reports I hear from the Grand Jury evidence is that a witness from an apartment upstairs testified that he heard them banging on the door and shouting police, we have a warrant.

Neither article seems to dispute that. The details make a difference though. Did they shout "police" and then immediately blast through the door? If they're giving notice that they're the police, should they wait for a response? If a bunch of plainclothes guys shout "police!" then knock your door down in the middle of the night, how do you know they're actually police?

It sounds like a lot of small mistakes led up to a bad situation. The raid execution doesn't make sense if you ask me. Why do a raid like this in the middle of the night when few people are at their finest? If you're going to announce you're the police at the door, why not do it during reasonable hours? If you've got a warrant and are looking for drugs, why not wait until the premises is vacant?

I'm sure more information could surface that would sway my opinion either direction, but it appears to be a mess no matter what. Obviously rioting and shooting police in the street isn't making things better.

Probably because the must people are at home at midnight, their drug buddies down the street can’t warn them that the cops are heading your way, and they can be caught off guard

Either make it a no-knock raid or don't. If they want to catch the person by surprise then do a no-knock raid. This halfway "we're going to knock and alert you at midnight then blast your door in" seems a little contradictory.

All good points from an objective and tactical stance. The problem here is this is being parroted as a racial thing. Race has NO base in this raid. But the drive by media and BLM are trying to make people belive that Breonna Taylor is dead because she's black. Which is complete nonsense. She would have perished the same way if she was white, latino, indian, native american, middle eastern... but this is an easy way to stoke the flames of the current race war in this country.

Totally agree. There have been plenty of examples of ridiculous no-nock raids that have killed white people and the media never mentions it. There have been some big articles about the militarization of police and the excessive use of no-knock raids that have included some crazy examples.

Now the rumor mill is saying that a dead body was found in a car rented in Taylor's name. Good times.
