The hypothesis that COVID-19 first started spreading in California in the fall of 2019 is one explanation for the state's lower than expected case numbers.

As of Tuesday, the state had 374 reported COVID-19 fatalities in a state of 40 million people, compared to New York which has seen 14 times as many fatalities and has a population half that of California. Social distancing could be playing a role but New York's stay-at-home order went into effect on March 22, three days after California implemented its order.

"Something is going on that we haven't quite found out yet," said Victor Davis Hanson a senior fellow with Stanford's Hoover Institute.

Hanson said he thinks it is possible COVID-19 has been spreading among Californians since the fall when doctors reported an early flu season in the state. During that same time, California was welcoming as many as 8,000 Chinese nationals daily into our airports. Some of those visitors even arriving on direct flights from Wuhan, the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak in China.

"When you add it all up it would be naïve to think that California did not have some exposure," said Hanson.

So if it was really in Cali long before anyone realized, A: all the models are wrong and the 'curve' is likely already flat, and B: this event is more media driven hysteria than anyone wants to admit.

A lot of people got sick around that time. My parents got sick. My in-laws got so sick they ended up getting chest X-rays, but tested negative for the flu.

yup, I was sick at that time too. Christmas Eve it started, to be exact.

My prediction is within the next month this whole thing starts to wind down. I think if cases aren't dropping off the the government still starts rolling things back citing data they have collected blah blah blah.

Also now is probably a good time to research past recessions and depressions and how people have profited from them. Now's probably a great time if you can afford to putting more into retirement account assuming stock market is still in the crapper.

We're almost positive my wife had it over the new year. 3 weeks of incessant cough, she wss sleeping on the couch so I could actually get some rest for work. This has definitely been here stateside longer than we knew.

We just crashed the global economy and instituted a police state because of the flu.

I'm really starting to believe that this virus and our reaction to it has more to do with social media and smart phones than the actual virus.

That said, we're also lucky that this virus isn't more deadly than it is.

yeah, i tend to agree. I know a lot of people in the same boat a few months ago. it will be REALLY good when we can get some good antibody testing.

How will everyone react to finding out the truth about this virus?

Who knows, some people don't pay attention to anything, some are already pissed so will they be more so? then there's the whole point that we may never know all the truths, i mean we are constantly lied to or are told the truth while simultaneously being told something contradictory. so who knows. for the most part though i think we are lazy as sh*t, i can't believe how many virtual shoulders shrugs we see now. no one is "getting up in arms" about anything, you know?

I thought I had a decent handle on the basics of the market and the economic forces shaping how things were going. Then the government threw trillions of dollars at the situation. I have no idea what to think of things now because we've never seen anything like this. I'm still going to average some money into the market, but I'm sure it's going to be quite the crazy ride from here and I have no clue where we're going to end up.

In this recent nonstop Pharmedia appearances, Gates appears gleeful that the Covid-19 crisis will give him the opportunity to force his third-world vaccine programs on American children.
