FYI, friend of mine from work was just asked to voluntarily quarantine for 14 days. Went to Dr with fever and few weeks ago he was in Mexico. They aren't testing though unless fever gets over 103 or severe respiratory issues. I ate dinner with him Thursday before our Friday lunch.

I called VA to ask if I should do anything. They said as long as I don't have the symptoms or know anyone who has tested positive I can go about my own business.

Funny though because they say you're contagious before you show symptoms.......

I have high blood pressure as well, but oddly enough it has been on the low side the past few days. I'm not sure if it's getting lower because I don't have to deal with all the coworkers in my department or because I have some sort of weird supernatural power that grows stronger as society crumbles around me.

Coronavirus Pandemic, day 16.
If anyone is still out there, I’m alive but struggling. Food is running low. Down to only 459 days worth. My hands are super sanitized and my butt is super clean. Down to 1599 rounds of ammo (dropped 1 round down the heat vent while doing daily inventory). Power still on, but for how long? Missing human interaction but I have my dog.. for now.. (I'm soaking his food in BBQ sauce in an attempt to marinate him from the inside in case I have to eat him) . I fear dark days ahead. News is all bad. Neighbors have attempted to leap from windows to their death, (or near death... most have single story homes so they are badly bruised). Blew through most Netflix series so may have to rewatch some again..Basic Survival is a definite challenge. I vow to persevere to the end, I am a survivor! Please, if there is life out there, communicate with me to help preserve my sanity..

Ok so let me get this straight lol. 19% of people with corona virus will need to be hospitalized. Because of that number our healthcare system will be overrun and that's why we need to do social distancing to flatten the curve of infection.

But if we are only testing high risk people then only 19% of high risk people are actually being hospitalized. Most people aren't even being given opportunity to get tested so our stats are obviously skewed to make things look worse.

Yup. I feel like the mortality rate is easy to find and regularly updated as it's trending down. But the mortality rate isn't really the big concern. The hospitalization rate is the issue, but I'm not seeing/hearing nearly as much about that. Does anyone know of a reliable source that's keeping everyone informed of the hospitalization rate?

Hospitalization and death rates mean nothing since they aren't testing everyone. Likely the true numbers are much lower then what they are publishing.

The last press conference I heard said the average mortality rate is at .7%

Cuomo also told everyone to register their ARs. He doesn't have the manpower to enforce it and even if he did, the state needs the tax money.

It's only week one. It will be interesting to see how the next 6-8 weeks go.
