Last I saw things are moving in weird alignment. Usually gold goes up in value when the markets are tanking, but lately gold, bonds, and stocks have been moving lower together.

A friend of ours, who has a daughter in my daughters class (and they are close) woke up with symptoms this morning after yesterday it was released a worker in the school he works in was confirmed to have covid-19.
soooooo he got tested for the flu and strep today and both were negative . So he's been tested for Corona. We shall see, results apparently can take 2 plus days
but if he tests positive we were certainly exposed, so we are currently self-quarantined. Should be interesting!Comment

Things just got crazy in my family, but mainly because of sibling drama. My brother-in-law is a molecular biologist and I asked him about the coronavirus over a month ago. He said he didn't think it was anything to worry about. At the time, I looked at the reports of a 14 day contagious incubation period and told my wife everyone's going to get it and started making some adjustments based on that belief.
Fast forward to today and my sister and brother-in-law are freaking out saying how horrible everything is going to be. Apparently they're afraid my one niece has been exposed so they're legit putting up a plastic barrier to cordon off a section of the house with one bedroom and bathroom. I guess my niece will be entering and exiting through a window until she's deemed safe.

Yeah one of my buddies who has been "it's nothing, everyone is over reacting " came into work with a complete different tune Friday. His wife is a nurse and it definitely all changed for him Thursday night after she got home.
It's been a crazy ass weekend.

No cases in Franklin County but they closed most of the schools, including ours, until the 20th of April. Good thing I work for myself and can schedule service calls and jobs around our sitters availability as much as possible.Comment

I just got a call a few minutes ago from the VA again. Few days ago they did a phone screen for carona virus because of appointment tomorrow. Today they called to see if I wanted to reschedule my appointment because of the carona virus to lessen my chances of contracting it. I said I would keep my appointment tomorrow. Then they offered to do appointment over phone. Again I declined and said I would show up in person.

paranoia is strong these days. It will be a few days until people realize the insulation and non-sense is actually worse than the virus itself.
And in 9 to 10 months we will see a new baby boom since folks who bought all the toilet paper forgot to get the condoms.
In the end we will come with a positive balance, more people born than dead as a result of this panic pandemic.

What happens with this is that from time to time the wold gets a lesson in humility.
We much more bigger appreciation for doctors, nurses, emergency reponders, the drivers and employees bringing the groceries, the pharmacist, etc...
We cannot go on as we are forever but this will pass and perhaps will make people think more long term or just continue doing the senseless things.
