I can't snap the latching piece on the end down to lock it in place. The way it sits inside the sides of the bed I can't put a ton of pressure on it to close it because it starts flexing the side pieces.

Sounds like it needs to be adjusted slightly. Quick working fix is manually manipulate side piece so cover locks into place until you adjust as necessary.

I took off the foam strips because I have side covers. What do they mean by level? Do they mean even? I've got the side pieces down against the side covers. Not sure how to make them any more level.
Did you use the little spacer things that go on side pieces? That slightly changes angle probably to what I need.

My kit came with all of the standard clamps, plus 4 special clamps that I'm supposed to use since I have the Utili-track system. They say I'm only supposed to use the four special clamps, and that's really all I have room for. I want to keep a couple of the standard clamps as backups, but if you want some of my spare clamps to make your cover rails extra sturdy I can give them to you at the next AA meeting.

I officially have a closed tonneau cover. Yay!

The way my workdays go that's definitely a highlight.

There was a bit of sun over muy lunch break so I unrolled it to let it warm up. There also seemed to be something funky with the vinyl on the latching end. After some playing the vinyl straightened out and made it easier to close.

I found a catalog for tonneau covers at 4WheelOnline. Any of you has an experience with access tonneau like this one, http://4wheelonline.com/AccessTonneauCovers.2044? I want to make some changes with my Chevy's cargo management.

No experience with Access brand but I used to have an F350 that had a similar cover made by Ford. It had snaps not velcro. Worked fine in summer but was a real PITA during winter. I'd recommend a hard cover over vinyl.

yeah tobigilligan as i mentioned in post #2, I have had an access cover. it has been 5 stars. mine is the "original" and it completely changed the way i looked at tonneau covers 10 years ago. they are nothing like what cgrutt is talking about with snaps. no one should be buying snap versions of any of these covers, those were horrible and there have been several iterations of design improvements since the snaps.
