  • Tonneau Covers

Anyone have any recommendations on who makes the best covers and where to get them at the best price? Ideally I'd like a locking snapless soft cover. That seems like the best option for transitioning from closed up and semi-secure to full access to the bed for cargo. I suppose the locking feature depends on the price though. The locking/snapless versions I've seen are up around $500, and I'd really prefer not to spend that much.

you got a truck? yippee, congrats!

but what do you mean locking/snapless soft cover? they are almost all (as far as I know) theft resistant as you need to open the tailgate to operate the cover, as long as the tailgate is lockable. but the term lockable makes me think of hard covers that have actual locks on them?

you definitely don't want anything with snaps, that should be 100% off the table in today's day and age. god those sucked.

my favorite has been the agricover access but there are a bunch of brands now that make similar ones.
I know a lot of people like trifolds but i like roll-ups with "flat" supports that go across and roll up with the cover. my current agricover is part of an old rack/cover combo they use to have that is now 9 1/2 years old and still going pretty strong. the material is starting to show wear in the last year only, and i'm constantly rolling it up and unrolling it becuase it is so dang convenient.

Sounds like what I'm after. The "locking" soft covers I've seen just latch closed, and you need to be able to open the tailgate to unlatch them. They are on the pricey side though.

ah, gotcha. yeah, the ones that have a caming action when you close them, and then just velcro along the two sides are so nice. i've had several tonneau covers on several trucks over the years and man have they come a long way.
they use to be basically impossible in the cold of winter. now i open and close mine whenever i want, doesn't matter the temperature.

all that said, i really wish i could swing a diamondback to replace this one when i finally retire it. i might miss some of the flexibility i have grown accustomed too though, but they are just so cool.

I just got a 2014 Ram 1500 Bighorn with 6'4" bed and have been internet shopping all night for a Tonneau cover.
What I want is a cover that attaches inside the bed rails because I want to install a ladder/kayak rack into the pockets on top of the bed rails. I'm looking at TruXedo Lo Pro QT any thoughts?

I don't have any experience with that cover but would be concerned about rain/snow making it into your bed being attached as it appears to be.

i haven't personally owned one but any friends i've had with truxedo thought they made a quality product. i agree with cgrutt that the style isn't going to be as water tight as others, but none of them are really 100% water tight anyway imho.
what rack are you looking at too?

i have the older version of this: http://www.accesscover.com/adarac/
my version is maybe a little flimsier of a system, looks like they made it more rigid (and stopped selling them for tundras). but mine has taken many loads many miles.

I run a Tyger Trifolder on my Tundra. It is great and with the tail gate locked no one can get in with out a knife. I bought mine on Amazon for like $199.00 free shipping. This is not where I bought it but it is just like this one.
