  • Ask your ham / armature radio questions here.

Of you have any questions I'll try to answer best I can . I like to operate on HF bands and have talked as far away as Slovakia on less then 10 watts!

Armature radio is great for SHTF and natural disasters. They have been used to get messages out to loved one when infrastructure is down in certain areas.

They have nets where you can pass along messages and you can check in next day for responses as well!

What are the differences between Ham radio operations and Single Side Band operations?

Not sure I understand the question. Granted I'm no expert but you can operate single side band in ham radio . You can also operate CW, RTTY, ect. Check out this frequency chart.

Thats what I use is the single side band. Some of the newer radios can actually connect to your computer and can decipher Morse code and you can send it back with keyboard which is actually pretty cool.
