Going to try 80m local net at 1200 today

Local HAM club does net every Sunday at 1200 on 3.920 MHZ. Going to see if I can participate with 5W portable setup...

Well I was able to hear a few stations on 80m but they didn't seem to hear me. Switched over to 20m and picked up stations in FL, MO, SD and Alberta CA clear as day. Wasn't able to make contact there either. Wondering if it's because I'm only running 5W or something wrong with radio and/or settings...

Yeah I already knew that lol. Going to try running a wire next seems to be more efficient...
