  • Game Cam Pictures

We had some game cams out over a deer carcass that we had after processing this years harvest. We hoped to capture some coyote pictures for some hunting, instead we got some other interesting game.

How much do game cameras go for? Any recommendations?

Game cams vary in price, ones that work well run around $150 to $200, they make ones that are more and have more features. They even make some you can put on you mobile phone account and monitor from your home or phone. Cheap ones are just that cheap, poor picture quality and so forth, you get what you pay for. Some people have good luck with cheap one, I have not. We use Moultrie and Stealth Cam ones, I have heard that Bushnell are good ones also, but I am no expert. I would tell you that you will want inferred cams without flash. Flash cams work fine but it takes some time for game to not be spooked by them so if you don't move it much the game will get used to it. Do some research and read some reviews and that will get you pointed in the right direction. Only other thing to think of is batteries and battery life. My Stealth Cam takes 8 C batteries and it will kill them after about 1000 pictures, that sounds like a lot but if you have a active area, you can take 100 or 200 in a few days, and if your sensitivity is set to high, you will have hundreds of pictures of a blade of grass or a tree branch, ask me how I know that.
