Need some help. I just got a Tenkara rod yesterday and I'm looking to try it out today. I'm completely new to fly fishing and a noob in general about fishing. I see that Trout season starts April 1st. Does that mean I can't fly fish till April 1st or are you allowed to catch and release? Anyone with knowledge on the rules of fly fishing would be appreciated. Also I do have a valid fishing license.

No catch and release. Season starts April 1st except for tributaries of Lake Ontario, those are open year round.Beer is like porn, you can buy it but it's more fun to make your own

I'm taking off from work on April 1st and heading down to Zoar Valley. I plan on hiking down to Cattaraugus creek and set up my hammock next to the creek and hopefully cooking up some fresh caught trout. Saute in beer and butter. MMMMMMM!"I see Nuthhink..... I know nuthink!!!!!"
