This one will be short and sweet. We are getting some of these in probably in the middle of next week. I have decided to go with this type of tip up. Some say it's a tip down BUT the fact that it makes a noise AND the tip of the rod flies up when triggered, it is indeed classified as a tip up. It's also a hook setting style as well. Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you .... THE JAW JACKER!! I know these have been out for about 4-5 years now, but they are just catching on in this area. I really like this setup because I can just take rod/reel combos and no need for the old style tip ups resulting in less equipment to buy and lug around. (at least for now) I can focus on just the 4 rod/reel combos I have and use them all.
These are inline price wise with what appears to be nicer "old style" wooden tip ups at $39.99.
