Large charter fishing boat experience

Who's been on a large (up to 150 passengers and crew) charter fishing boat? I was with my dad as a kid but really don't remember it. Bringing the boy on Sunday. Blues and stripers. What should I expect and what do I need to bring?

Rods and tackle "are available" on the boat. If I wanted to bring my own gear what would I need (say budget of $200 or so). Unfortunately all of my gear is upstate lol...

I've got a rod/reel you're more than welcome to borrow. I bought it last year but never used it. Also I have a small tackle box as well you're welcome to use. Not sure the weight limit on the pole but if it would be useful let me know.

Thanks Jimbo I kind of want to get my son another set up to keep at home. Also I think it needs to be salt water resistant or it will be ruined.

Oh, yeah, this is not salt water resistant. It's basically a starter kit kind of setup. If you still want to borrow it just let me know.

I have some saltwater reels and rods you are always welcome to use them. PENN spinning reels for SW, the would need fresh line, line on them is quite old, have to look at the model but are on the serious side....

PENN 750-ss and a 850ss, yes in the garage, the 750 needs a new handle, both need some dusting and new lines. I thought I may have had a 650 ss as well, maybe that was the Dillon, LOL. Anyway, top of the line reels 20 years ago.

If you lived closer I'd let you borrow my pelican cooler, with some modifications they work as intended lol, I actually think they use that foam insulation you can buy in can for those that want to modify a cheaper cooler.

You haven't lived until you hook into a blue and it dives under the boat and tangles up about 30 other lines in the process.
